Can you make a frame using a truck's VIN?

Accepted Answer

NO. We do not have access to manufacturer information.  Decades of experience have demonstrated that actual frame sizes and hole patterns tend to differ from the original design, so using the VIN could result in a new set of frames that don't fit your truck.

Instead, we build you a custom set of frames based on dimensions that you provide. Based on extensive customer feedback, we are confident that our approach will result in the best outcome for you.

What are your lead times?

Accepted Answer

• Lead times vary from week to week.  Email us at info@pgadams.com (mailto:info@pgadams.com)for the latest lead times! If our current lead time doesn't work for your project, please let our sales staff know so we can try to accommodate you.

• Our lead times tend to be shorter in the Summer and Fall and longer in the Winter and Spring.

• Square cut, blank frames have the shortest lead time.

• NOTE: We bend ½” material 1 week per month

• Blank frames with cuts and/or tapers AND orders with crossmembers take a bit longer than just square cut, blank frames.

• Easy-bolt frames (duplications with holes) take the longest.

How do you schedule Easy-Bolt projects?

• We are able to take in your original frame by appointment only, so please get in touch with us to either help you arrange the freight (via the inbound freight quote provided along with your estimate) or schedule a drop off appointment!

Slots do go fast so the sooner you schedule with us the better!

Can you do splayed frames for Mack or Volvo?

NO.  We do not offer splayed frames, drops, or drop bellies as seen below.

Can you change from a double frame to a single frame?

Accepted Answer

• Yes, we can go from a double to a single frame.  Our thickest material is 1/2”

Please note: a single 1/2" frame has the same strength as a double 1/4" frame with the same outside web and flange dimensions.  If your original inner or outer frames are thicker than 1/4", switching to a single 1/2" frame will not be as strong.

NOTE: We do not have engineers on staff and cannot make recommendations, but we are happy to do some strength comparison calculations for you!
